Mr. Robot wins Golden Globe for Best Drama and Best Actor

Undoubtedly one of the most interesting shows of 2015 Mr. Robot sneaks away with two of three Golden Globe awards from some very intense competition.

In a surprisingly tough field of Series Drama nominations, Mr. Robot prevailed as the winner of Best Television Series – Drama, against the likes of Empire, Game of Thrones, Narcos, and Outlander, the last of which would be considered its primary competition.

Creator Sam Esmail accepted the award flanked by his entire cast in what was a very proud moment for the freshmen series.

Meanwhile, Christian Slater as “Mr. Robot” beat out his competition to win Best Supporting Actor in a Television Drama with his excellent “is he or isn’t he” persona. His competition included Alan Cumming, Damien Lewis, Tobias Menzies, and the front-runner Ben Mendelson.

Disappointingly, Rami Malek did not win Best Performance by an Actor for his role as Elliot, losing to Mad Men star Jon Hamm.

The question remains is will these Golden Globes come into play during Emmy Award time as Mr. Robot just missed out on last year’s award timeline.
